LaWanda Warren

I have worked in education for over 15 years and over 25 years of deliberate and purposeful experience in advocacy and equity brace  issue in my community, in public schools, and in life in general.  I have always had a passion to pursue being a voice for the voiceless, providing opportunities when there were barriers, and standing up for those that have been shut out.  This is the very reason why The SEECCAA Group = ACCESS.  As a black woman, there has been too many instances of access not being granted or overlooked due to implicit biases.  In today’s world with race being on trial and racial justice issues, I can not look away.  It is my passion to run toward the cause.  I am here to be the voice of change for my community, my family, and myself.  This is something that resonates in my spirit to impact positive change.  There is no better time than now, today, this moment to press forward with others in mind, with racial equity and opportunities for my community at the forefront.  My experience from working with families, students, adolescents, young adults, and people from disadvantaged situations has shown me the positive impact of wrap around services such as mentors, life skills coaching, mindset shifting, and healing services and spaces available for the injustices that continue to shape our world, but I believe in a change of narrative.. This is not just what I believe, but it is what I stand for and what is needed to begin to bridge the gaps around race, abilities, community violence and access to begin to name a few of the things that have impacted my community.  It is through this platform that I believe the value of Paying It Forward will persist.
